I was born and raised in Mayfield Heights, Ohio and return to Ohio each summer to work on the shores of Lake Erie at Lakeside, a Chautauqua vacation community. I graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and Communications in 1979. I received my Pennsylvania teaching license in 1979 and my NC license in 2007. My husband and I moved to North Carolina in 1982 and have chosen Charlotte as our home. I was a teaching assistant and a 5th grade teacher at Legette Blythe Elementary, a teaching assistant at Myers Park Traditional School, a 4th grade teacher at Albemarle Road Elementary School, and a 1st grade teacher at MPTS. I also homeschooled my children. My hobbies include sewing, reading, traveling, playing games, cooking, and spending time with my husband, my two daughters and their husbands, my two granddaughters, Lily and Violet, my grandson, Ethan, and my extended family
